The repair landscape abroad — from a shop running since 1935 to published price lists

Stuffed animal repair is a working trade across the English-speaking world, and this site lists services in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. The Doll & Teddy Hospital in Brisbane, Australia states on its official site that it has been operating since 1935, repairing dolls, teddy bears and soft toys in person.

How openly prices are published varies. Leith Toy Hospital near Edinburgh publishes a detailed price list — seam repairs from £7.80, a gentle wash and re-stuff at £66, new eyes from £20. In the US and Canada, quoting after reviewing photos or the item itself is the more common pattern in our survey.

Manufacturer programs exist too. Steiff accepts repairs of its own products at its headquarters in Giengen, Germany, and Vermont Teddy Bear states that its bears are repaired or replaced under a lifetime guarantee. For overseas customers, international shipping and correspondence in English are part of the deal.
